"FORGET ME NOT" AUTO ON FEATURE
AceK9.com’s Automatic ON / Manual OFF Feature:
This is a feature that gives maximum
protection to the K-9 in the vehicle. If the handler
forgets the dog is in the vehicle the alarm will still be
active. Only when the handler has pressed the power button
and an audible & visual warning to remove the dog is given
will the alarm turn off.
Explanation of the “Forget Me Not” AUTO ON menu
feature:
The “Forget Me Not” AUTO ON menu choice will turn ON
the alarm when the ignition is turned on. However it will
not turn off unless the handler manually presses and holds
the power button.
When the unit is manually turned off it beeps
many times and displays the following warning message:

SHUTTING DOWN "
"!!
REMOVE K-9 !!"
This is the safest method of operation.
We have developed and tested K-9 detection
systems & pressure mats to detect the presence of the K-9 in
the vehicle. During extensive testing we have found
that they have shortcomings during installation and long
term durability.
The
"Forget Me Not" Feature and proper training helps to
eliminate the problem of forgetting the K-9 in the
vehicle.

History of the
K9 in
Vehicle
Detector (KVD)
During the
summer of 2003, U.S. Home Land Security
lost a K9 due to being left in the
vehicle without the K9 Heat Alarm®
activated. October of that year, they
contacted us
to design & develop a system to detect
the K9 in the vehicle. We
developed several methods using microwave
motion detection, optical interrupter
(electric eye), and pressure sensitive
mat.
While
there have been deaths of K9s forgotten
and left in vehicles they are EXTREMELY
RARE. With proper training, procedure,
and repetition the problem would be
eliminated. However, we feel that it is
our duty to provide you with every tool
necessary to insure the safety of your
K-9 partner and yourself.
Due to the recent K9 deaths in Texas
(2006) and again in Arizona (2007)
AceK9 has decided to emphasize the K9 in
Vehicle Detector (KVD) for
our K9 Heat Alarm® Pro and Hot-N-Pop®
Pro product line. The cost of this
option is $1,200.00 plus shipping.
Acek9
has also added the "Forget Me Not"
Feature to our K9 Heat Alarm® Pro and Hot-N-Pop®
Pro product line as of late 2007.
